Born in Cuba, but immigrated in 1980 at the age of nine thanks to the generosity of President Carter, and the foresight of my mother and father. If we spoke, you will have a hard time pinpointing my accent. It is a linguistic hotchpotch of English learned and mastered through my time spent in Boston, NYC, Miami, Texas, and now Georgia. In fact, my student often describes it as straight out of central casting for an Italian mob film. I'm not sure what that means, but it helps in the discipline department for some reason.
I have many interests. Among them is my love for Art, in all of its forms, but always starting with what the great Frank Lloyd Wright called the "Mother Art" - architecture, but new love, one for the building of great things through coding is emerging.
Also, I am a photo-illustrator, which is another way of saying that I'm really good at Photoshop, and graphic design. Great skills for designing picture books like for weddings, or catalogs. In addition, my skills repertoire includes carpentry, construction, and 3-D modeling & cross-media additive/reductive manufacturing.
Through my 28 years of teaching, my students have kept me young. It is my sincere hope that my purpose to positively impact life has extended everywhere beyond my classroom for each of the students I have had the privilege of teaching. The students I had the privilege of teaching over ten years ago tell me that I did, and this is validation enough.
